Miss Fitz
In 1997 Maayan Nidam, aka Miss Fitz was organising a variety of electronic music events ranging from small parties to large audience venues and festivals around Israel. Two years later while attending two different schools, she began producing electronic music (concentrating on ambiance n dub) and visual arts (graphics, animation and video).
After September 11th 2001, Maayan moved to New York to stay with her family. Returning to Tel-Aviv on 2002 , Maayan decided to dedicate herself exclusively to music and so she discovered her unique way with the turntables and very quickly became one of the most popular djs in Tel-Aviv, spinning minimal techno, splicing it with fresh sounds from hardcore techno and electrofunk (breaks) to electro and micro house.
Soon after this, Maayan joined the Contemporary Music School crew as an instructor for the dj-ing course and became a manager for `n` label, functioning both as dj/booker for a weekly w-end program on national radio as well as a music manager for clubs n bars.
In 2003, while staying in Amsterdam, Maayan started on the NOTV DVD project. Not long after, moving to Berlin, she got back into focus at the best clubs and venues around: Tresor ,Club-Transmediale, Maria, Water-Gate, Cookies and many more in and out of Germany.
At the moment Miss Fitz is producing minimal techno and IDM. As a Dj she takes part in the Berlin based Derschmuck collective, keeps a monthly residency in London and is an official dj of the Canadian label `Archipel`. Maayan uses FinalScratch technology which allows her to create her own productions in the good old vinyl style. In her spare time, she reviews music /video games for Vice magazine (Germany) and posts for UndergroundAmputations.
